Today was the Enoshima Tenno Matsuri and the weather was beautiful so there was no reason not to go. Taking the Shonan-Shinjuku Line from Shinjuku Station (you can also take the Odakyu Line) takes about one hour to get to Fujisawa Station. There you transfer to the Odakyu Enoshima Line and three stops later, you find yourself at Katase-Enoshima Station.

A short walk over the bridge and you’re on Enoshima Island and several steps away from Enoshima Shrine.

Tips

I arrived in the afternoon but if you want to see them bring the mikoshi into the sea, you have to arrive in the morning.

Bring water and swim-wear if you want to go for a swim.

If you have time, you can explore Enoshima Island’s many shrines, cave and spend time next to the sea. If the weather is clear you can also see Fuji-san.
